On January 15, 2010, ten members of the McKinney Police Department decided the time had come to implement change. The founding members wanted to offer officers a second option of representation. These members wanted representation which was based on fairness, equality and integrity. The 10 members discussed ways to correct and address these issues. Thus, the Fraternal Order of Police McKinney Lodge #107 was created.
The local lodge serves as a speaking voice for its members to departmental administration and city government representatives.
The McKinney Lodge exists to strive for betterment of the law enforcement profession for the individual officer and the collective membership.
This is accomplished by improving working conditions, wages, benefits, and the use and implementation of discipline. The Lodge provides a service and benefit to the law enforcement profession and the public to which it serves.
The local lodge was established to re-institute camaraderie and a brother/sisterhood of the badge.
Since our inception, the Lodge has participated in supporting the McKinney VFW with the Toys for Tots motorcycle ride, McKinney Dickens of a Christmas/Home for the Holidays and has assisted the local Boy Scouts of America Troops and numerous McKinney Schools. Our members have also participated with the Veterans Memorial service at Pecan Grove Cemetery. The lodge also conducts the Shop with a Cop fundraiser as well as provides Child ID kits during other local events.
We as a Lodge believe in continual community outreach which will foster a positive and influential relationship with McKinney citizens.
